The provision of high quality sport and PE is regarded as an essential at Meysey Hampton Primary and over the last few years the children have benefited from the expertise of a number of specialist sports teachers and coaches. These additional coaches and teachers enhance the PE and sports teaching undertaken by our fulltime staff.  Children participate in a range of sports including hockey, netball, tag rugby, football, gymnastics, cross country, dance and swimming both during curriculum time and as after school extra-curricular clubs.

Our sports teams have enjoyed some success, including winning the Y3/4 small schools football and being runners up in the Y5/6 tournament. The tag rugby and netball teams both finished in the top three of the cluster tournaments

One of our pupil's was selected to represent the district in the area cross country finals and finished a very respectable 14th out of 125 children in March 2015.

Representative football matches between Meysey and Kempsford, and Meysey and Fairford and Meysey and Southrop have been held throughout the winter months and have provided an opportunity for our sporty girls and boys to demonstrate their competitiveness, team spirit and good sportsmanship.  We would like to thank the schools for giving us the opportunity to play regularly.

In the Summer months we enjoy the opportunity to participate in athletics, rounders and cricket and all juniors have the chance to attend training led by a Chance to Shine coach.

In all, we run 9 sports clubs throughout the year and will continue to provide a range of sports activities and events enabling all children across the school to enjoy participating in PE and games.
